I'm pretty sure anyone living in the 21st Century would jump at the chance to get a free iPad just for being willing to test one out.I know I sure jumped at the opportunity...or at least I jumped at what I 'thought' was an opportunity.
Here's a news flash for you...
There's no such thing as an Apple iPad Tester.
That's right...it's all bogus, a scam, marketing ploy...you name it.
Many sly marketers are offering a Free iPad by saying that you can test one out for free and report your findings to Apple. So they go through an elaborate scheme of promoting this false promise to you. Crazy isn't it!
Here's the real kicker!
These companies do indeed give away free iPads. So, I don't understand why they are creating this 'story' about becoming a tester for Apple in order to get the iPad, when they're giving them away anyway. At first it just didn't make sense to me.
Then it hit me...
We, all of us, are becoming immune to the best possible offer anyone could make us... FREE. We see Free all over the place. We are blasted with advertising wherever we go, even in the bathroom. We can't escape it! A great deal of that advertising offers something for Free as a means of catching our attention. We all know that any marketing message is dead in the water unless you can get someone's attention. The sad truth is that we are bombarded with so much advertising everywhere, everyday, that we are becoming immune to it. We tune it out, we simply ignore it.
After realizing that, I now understood why these companies were claiming to be giving away Apple iPads to those of use willing to test one out. Ha, can you believe it. The good old, "Hey, lemme give this to your for Free" just isn't working anymore. We have to make up some story just to give something away for nothing. Crazy isn't it. Makes me wonder how people will be giving away Free stuff 20 years from now.
